In the early hours of Saturday, April 5, an accident involving one vehicle occurred near Třebenice in the Central Bohemian Region. A 51-year-old man driving a VW Touareg veered off a slope around 3 a.m. and became trapped in the wreckage. He was unable to call for help due to his injuries.
The crash was only discovered around 9 a.m. by a passerby, who alerted emergency services. Rescue teams, including firefighters, paramedics, and police, responded to the scene and successfully extricated the driver from the damaged vehicle.
The man, conscious but seriously injured, was airlifted by helicopter to Motol University Hospital in Prague. Due to his condition, he was unable to undergo a breathalyzer test; blood samples are to be taken at the hospital to determine the presence of alcohol or drugs. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
