Eleven-vehicle pile-up disrupts traffic on D6 motorway

A pile-up accident involving eleven vehicles disrupted traffic on the D6 motorway near Hostivice in the Prague-West district on Wednesday morning. The crash occurred in dense fog conditions shortly after 8:30 a.m. around the 5th kilometre of the motorway heading toward Prague. Emergency services responded promptly, and one person was transported to hospital for further treatment.

According to the fire department, the collision mainly consisted of minor impacts involving eight passenger cars, two vans, and a truck. Firefighters secured the area by implementing fire prevention measures and handling leaked operational fluids to prevent environmental contamination.

Due to the accident, the left lane of the motorway was closed, and morning traffic was limited to a single lane only. Authorities estimate that restrictions in the area will remain in place until the afternoon.
