On Tuesday, April 22, shortly before 2:30 p.m., police received an emergency call reporting a possible fall of a person into the Velká Amerika quarry near Mořina in the Beroun district. Police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with firefighters, paramedics, and two helicopters — one from the Police Air Service and another from the Kryštof 01 medical rescue team.
Upon arrival, police and firefighters began searching the quarry area. The missing person was soon located, but with no signs of life.
Due to the difficult terrain, a specialized rescue team from the fire service used climbing equipment to reach the body. The recovery was assisted by the helicopter crew.
The case has been taken over by criminal investigators from Beroun. A forensic autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death, and authorities are now examining all circumstances surrounding the incident.
