Police have arrested three suspects just two days after a calculated theft in Prague’s Jeremiášova Street, where a man was robbed while inflating a tire that had been deliberately punctured.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 7, when three men targeted a driver arriving in a Mercedes. As the man left his parked vehicle to shop nearby, one suspect punctured the front left tire while another kept watch. When the driver returned and began inflating the tire, unaware of the setup, the third man discreetly opened the rear door and stole a bag containing documents and valuables worth tens of thousands of crowns.
Using a CCTV footage and further investigation, detectives from the Prague 2nd District police identified the suspects and traced them to the Anděl area. Two days later, they were spotted in a car and arrested on the street.
During the operation, police recovered part of the stolen items, including cash, a mobile phone, and the stolen bag.
The case was handled in expedited proceedings, and the three foreign nationals were issued administrative expulsion orders. They are now banned from entering the Czech Republic for five years.
