A jammed ventilation belt caused smoke to fill one of the cinema halls in the Metropole Zličín shopping center on Friday afternoon, prompting a response from fire crews from three stations.
Roughly 700 people evacuated the building before firefighters arrived. Crews carried out a full inspection of the cinema, including an external check using an aerial platform.
No fire was found, and no injuries were reported. The incident was traced to a mechanical fault in the air handling system.
