Fire crews responded early Sunday morning to a major apartment fire on Nevanova Street in Prague’s Řepy district. According to officials, the blaze fully engulfed a top-floor unit.
Emergency responders evacuated more than 30 people from the building. Several individuals were rescued directly from the affected apartment. Firefighters are working on site with paramedics and police.
No fatalities have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
UPDATE (ZZS HMP):
Emergency medical services from Prague’s rescue service (ZZSHMP) responded with three rapid response units (RZP), a physician, an inspector, and a specialized Atego unit. An approximately 80-year-old man was found in critical condition. Despite 30 minutes of resuscitation efforts at the scene, he succumbed to his injuries.
Paramedics also treated two women, both around 70 years old. One sustained burns to approximately 40% of her body, while the other suffered from respiratory distress. Both were stabilized and transported to medical facilities for further care.
