Four young adults have been charged with human trafficking after allegedly forcing several underage girls into prostitution in Prague, according to a police statement.
Investigators said the suspects — three men aged 19, 20, and 24, and a 22-year-old woman — approached vulnerable girls on the street and initially offered them food, cigarettes, and temporary accommodation. The group reportedly posed as friends in the early stages, but over time, coerced the girls into providing sexual services for money.
According to police, the suspects advertised the victims on erotic websites, arranged meetings with clients, and transported the girls to rented apartments used specifically for this purpose.
Officers stated that the group took all earnings from the girls and used the money to cover their own living expenses, including rent and other costs. When some of the girls attempted to stop, they were allegedly met with threats or physical violence.
Police say some were beaten, while others were threatened with harm to their family members.
According to the police statement, detectives from Prague’s 3rd Department documented the group’s activities and secured evidence. In cooperation with officers from the special operations unit, all four suspects were arrested in the early morning hours of May 13th in the Vysočany district.
They have been taken into custody and formally charged with human trafficking. If convicted, they each face up to 12 years in prison.
