Missing elderly woman with Alzheimer’s found

Prague police are searching for a 72-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing Tuesday morning in the city’s metro system.

According to police, the woman and her husband were traveling together by metro when he boarded a train at Náměstí Republiky heading toward Zličín. She did not follow him onto the train. When he returned to the station moments later, she was gone.

The missing woman suffers from Alzheimer’s and requires medication. Police say she is disoriented in time and space and cannot care for herself without assistance, raising serious concerns for her safety.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jeans, white Adidas sneakers, a blue sweater, and a white windbreaker vest.

Anyone who has seen this woman is urged to call emergency line 158 immediately.

Police confirmed that the missing 72-year-old woman was found safe on Wednesday evening. Officers located her at Smíchovské nádraží following an earlier public appeal for help.

Authorities thanked the public for assisting in the search. The woman, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and had gone missing at Náměstí Republiky metro station, was reunited with her family and is reportedly in good condition.
