Thief wanted after second large-scale shoplifting in Prague

Prague police say they are looking for a man suspected of repeatedly stealing personal hygiene products from shops across the city. In the latest case, he allegedly left a supermarket with 113 tubes of toothpaste and six cans of sweetened condensed milk.

According to police spokeswoman Eva Kropáčová, officers believe the same suspect also stole from a drugstore on April 2. In that incident, he reportedly took dozens of toothpaste tubes, over 30 packs of interdental brushes, and more than 100 condoms. Police say the man’s appearance matches footage from both incidents.

The recent theft occurred in a store on Mariánská Street in Prague 4. Video shows the suspect hiding toothpaste on a shelf. He later returned with a large shopping bag, took the hidden items along with other goods, and walked out without paying.

Police estimate the total damage from both cases at nearly CZK 26,000. They have opened criminal proceedings for suspected theft.

Investigators urge anyone who recognizes the man in the video or knows where he might be to call line 158.
