Woman fatally struck by metro train, line C disrupted

Metro service on Prague’s C line was partially suspended Monday morning after a woman was fatally struck by a train near the Kobylisy station.

According to police spokesperson Kristýna Zelinková, officers received a report shortly before 10 a.m. about a woman walking along the tracks in the tunnel, heading in the direction of Letňany.

The woman, born in 1997, was found lifeless under the train following the collision. The Prague Public Transit Company stated that her body was discovered at Kobylisy station but noted it remains unclear whether the incident involved a fall or an intentional act.

Surveillance footage is reportedly being reviewed to determine the cause.

Train service has been suspended between Nádraží Holešovice and Letňany. Replacement buses are operating at the affected stations, while service continues on the rest of the line between Nádraží Holešovice and Háje.
