Another truck driver has fallen victim to his navigation system in the center of Prague, finding himself wedged tight on the steep cobblestones of Nerudova street overnight.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene in the Little Quarter (Malá Strana) after the driver, following a route plotted by his GPS, turned onto the historic road only to get stuck halfway up the hill. The narrow, winding street is a main artery for tourists heading to the castle, but it is wholly unsuited for heavy freight.

Realizing he couldn’t make the climb, the driver tried to maneuver his way out. It didn’t go well; the truck scraped a parked car during the attempt to retreat.

Prague firefighters confirmed that units from the Castle district (HÚOPH) worked alongside police to resolve the jam. Rather than bringing in heavy towing equipment, they had to coordinate a slow, precise reverse operation. The teams guided the driver backward down the street until he reached a spot wide enough to turn around and leave the city center—this time, hopefully, on a road actually built for trucks.
