A serious collision involving six vehicles has brought traffic to a crawl on the Prague Ring Road this afternoon, leaving several people injured and emergency crews scrambling to clear the wreckage.

The accident occurred shortly after 12:20 p.m. at the 5.5-kilometer mark, just before the Komořany tunnel in the direction of Václav Havel Airport.
According to the Czech Police, the impact was severe enough to trap one person inside their vehicle, requiring firefighters to cut them free. Paramedics are currently on the scene treating multiple injuries, though authorities have not yet specified the severity or the number of people hospitalized.
The pileup has caused significant bottlenecks on one of the city’s busiest arteries. Police have closed the standard driving lanes to allow space for the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) to operate. As of 2:30 p.m., traffic is being funneled slowly through the emergency lane.
Drivers heading toward the airport or the west side of Prague should expect long delays. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution or seek alternative routes while the investigation into the cause of the crash continues and the debris is cleared.
