Crane overturns and tears down trolleybus wires in Prague 9

A mobile crane overturned during work in Prague 9 on Thursday morning, bringing down trolleybus overhead wires and forcing the closure of Prosecká Street, according to Czech police and firefighters. No injuries were reported.

Police said the crane tipped over while work was underway, with its boom damaging the overhead power lines used by trolleybuses. Emergency crews, including firefighters and transport company personnel, responded to the scene. The street remains closed while the crane is removed, and drivers have been urged to avoid the area.

The disruption has affected trolleybus route 58, which connects Palmovka and Miškovice. According to Prague Public Transit Company (DPP), services have been diverted between Libeňský zámek and Prosek, skipping the Kundratka, Kelerka and Prosecká stops. The transport restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

Authorities have not released information about what caused the crane to overturn.
